This document contains a summary of the main RentAssured Landlord Insurance Policy (“Policy”) terms and conditions. The full terms can be found in the Policy document which You can request now or which will be given to You when You receive Your Policy Schedule.
The benefits under the Policy are underwritten by LAMP Insurance Company Limited, Suite 934, Europort Gibraltar, company registration number 93562.
The Policy is arranged and administered by RentAssured. RentAssured is a trading name of InsurePlus Limited, whose registered office is at Suite 1 Grange Road Office Park, Grange Road, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16. InsurePlus Limited’s company registration number is 462339 and is authorised and regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. The benefits under the Policy apply during the Period of Insurance subject always to the terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions contained in the Policy and following payment of the Premium by You to Us. The Policy is effected in Ireland and is subject to the Irish law. LAMP Insurance Company Limited is licensed by the Chief Executive of the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission under the Financial Services (Insurance Companies) Act to carry on insurance business and is permitted to trade in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The Policy meets the needs of those who (subject to their eligibility) wish to ensure they have insurance cover to protect against incurring Loss of Rent, costs incurred due to Malicious Damage and expenses and legal costs due to tenancy Rent disputes.
You must confirm, when You apply for cover under this Policy, that full and proper referencing of the Tenant has been conducted (and will be conducted for each and every new Tenant during the Period of Insurance) prior to entering into the Tenancy Agreement, and no adverse results were returned. RentAssured provides a Tenant Check Service to ensure full and proper referencing of new tenants. You may be required to provide, at your expense, copies of all referencing information on the Tenant if and when You make a Claim.
You are insured for a Period of Insurance shown on Your Policy Schedule. The Policy will expire on the date shown on the Policy Schedule or upon the occurrence of the following, if earlier: (i) cancellation by You, (ii) cancellation by Us, (iii) Your reaching the Policy Limit, meaning the Policy can provide no further cover.
You have the right to cancel this Policy at no cost to You as long as You do so within 14 days of receiving the Policy documentation and You have not made any Claims. On condition that You have not already made a Claim and accept that You cannot make one later, Your Premium will be refunded. You may cancel the Policy after 14 days, but no refund will be issued.
You should review the cover provided by any policy of insurance on a regular basis to ensure it remains adequate for Your needs.
We will require certain information from You to ensure that the incident You report is covered under this Policy. In the event of a Claim or potential Claim on the Policy, please refer to the section ‘Making a Claim’ on the website www.rentassured.ie or contact the Administrator for the latest information on both the notifications You need to send and the Claims process. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in Your Claim being invalid.
We aim to provide a first class service at all times. Should You have any cause for enquiry or complaint please contact the Administrator in the first instance if Your complaint or enquiry relates to the issuing of this Policy. LAMP Insurance Company Limited is covered by the Insurance Compensation Fund administered under the control of the President of the Irish High Court in accordance with the Insurance Act 1964 (as amended).
